Artist Statement
My name’s Justice McKenzie. Right now that probably doesn’t mean much to you, but after you read this maybe it will. Throughout my life, my personality has been influenced on many occasions by various things. This has caused my styles and genres of art that I’ve explored be very diverse. Due to this, artwork that I’ve created directly relates to different stages of personal development. There are thousands of different art mediums that I’ve could have used to express myself, I’ve chose to focus on photography specifically for this site. Though the majority of photographs I’ll share consist of portrait photographs, various moods, styles and genres that intrigued me are expressed through portrait photography. I do this because traditional portrait photographs focus on the subject and the background is dismissed. However I use portrait photograph to explore various backgrounds, and though human beings are still the main subject, the background adds to the photograph, rather than just filling space. The equipment I used for the majority of my photographs was a DSLR 50 camera, and occasionally used a tripod as well. I strive to use a tripod for higher quality photos in the future. In addition, I look to explore more nature photography as my photography career continues.
